The trip is of light physical grade. Expect long city walks and easy walks in national parks. The trip also includes several long daytime rides in hired minivans or off-road vehicles with lots of sightseeing on the way. We will also take four short flights in Malaysia and Indonesia. We will stay in simple hotels and guesthouses, all will have Wi-Fi internet, hot water and air conditioning or fans
We will spend two weeks exploring the best spots of two neighbouring countries - Malaysia and Indonesia. In Kuala Lumpur we will visit Petronas twin towers, on Penang island enjoy some of the best cuisine in the world, and in old Melacca discover Malaysia's colonial past. Then, we move to the most populous island of Indonesia - Java, where we visit world- famous complexes of Borobudur and Prambanan and gaze into craters of Bromo and Ijen volcanoes. Finally, we visit beautiful Bali where we relish stunning nature and learn about the island's unique culture.
Arrival in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, checking into a hotel.
We visit holy Hindu Batu caves, then head to the world’s largest covered bird park and explore Petronas twin towers with a lush park around them. For dinner we head to the famous Alor Street known for its Chinese seafood and other mouthwatering Asian dishes.
Bus to Malacca, the oldest town in Malaysia. We visit the History and Ethnography Museum, ride a boat down the Malacca river, explore the old town and remains of the fort. After lunch we go back to Kuala Lumpur (2 hours) and fly to Penang island (1 hour) where we check into a hotel in the center.
We spend our morning in the jungle hiking to the sandy beach of the National Park, then visit several remarkable Buddhist temples. Penang is one of the world’s food destinations, and we will take full advantage of its Malay, Indian, Chinese and Baba-Nyonya cuisines.
In the morning we visit Kek Lok Si Temple with its striking pagoda and the statue of Guan Yin, then walk in Penang Botanic Gardens. We spend the rest of the day enyoing endless mazy streets of old Georgetown, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Morning flight to Kuala Lumpur followed by another flight to the ancient city of Yogyakarta in Indonesia. Checking into a hotel.
We visit Kraton Palace, residence of Yogyakarta sultans, explore Yogyakarta’s landmarks and explore Prambanan, a complex of early medieval Hindu temples. We enjoy sunset on a lovely beach.
We visit Borobudur, a 9th-century Buddhist stupa and temple complex, both located close to Yogyakarta. Afterwards we explore authentic Muslim quarters of Yogyakarta and have dinner in the famous local restauran.
Short flight to Surabaya (1 hour) and bus transfer to the village of Cemoro Lawang (3.5 hrs) at the foot of the Bromo volcano. Checking into a hotel close to the crater. Afternoon hike (40 to 50 minutes one way) to the crater to explore the active volcano and stunning out-of-this-world landscapes.
Early in the morning we set out for Bromo crater and watch breathtaking sunrise in Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park. Then we go back to the hotel to have breakfast and ride to Bondowoso (about 5 hours) visiting gorgeous Madakaripura waterfall on the way.
We climb the Ijen volcano, and explore crater of the “poisonous lake”, where Indonesian workers mine sulfur every night. After breakfast we take a bus and ferry to Bali (2-3 hours on the way) and check into a hotel in Pemuteran. The rest of the day we relax and enjoy a volcanic beach with black sand in front of our hotel.
A short hike to Sekumpul waterfall in the northwest of the island, a visit to Ulun Danu Bratan temple, a trip to Jatiluwih, the largest rice terraces on the island. Morning walk to the sacred monkey forest in Ubud. Ten-kilometer rafting on the fairy-tale river Ayung. We will also visit the palace of the rulers of Ubud and explore the city famous for its artists and craftsmen. Water Temple of Gunung Kawi Sebatu near Ubud. A trip to a hidden beach in the south of the island and sunset at the edge of a 70-meter rock.
Morning trip to the airport, flight back home.
TOUR RESERVATION CONDITIONS
The traveler signs the Agreement and booking conditions with the Company (Travel Expert), which are the fundamental documents for booking a tour.
If the client cancels the reservation, the security deposit will not be returned.
If the reservation is canceled by the Company, the deposit is refunded in full or can be transferred to another trip.
If the trip is canceled for reasons that may threaten the safe passage of the route, the Company is not responsible for additional (external) expenses from the client.
The client can transfer the reservation to another route or transfer his seat to another person no later than 14 days before the start of the tour. In this case, the Company charges a fee of $ 100 per change per person. The client also incurs all losses from changes in tickets or the purchase of new tickets, hotel reservations on the route, etc.
