Amazon Adventure in Yasun 7 Days

Your adventure begins in Coca, where youll board a speedboat for an exciting journey along the legendary Napo River. The ride takes about five to six hours, offering spectacular views of the rainforest and occasional encounters with river birds or monkeys swinging from the canopy. Lunch will be served en route, and by the afternoon youll arrive in Nuevo Rocafuerte, the gateway to Yasun National Park. Here, youll check into your lodge, take a short walk through the frontier town, and enjoy your first dinner in the Amazon.

After breakfast, set off on a two-hour boat ride into the depths of Yasun. The first stop is a checkpoint of the Ministry of Environment, followed by a short walk beneath towering ceibo and kapok trees that dominate the canopy. Continue to Jatuncocha Lagoon, a stunning and peaceful site where youll have lunch surrounded by pristine nature. In the afternoon, your guide will lead a hike through the forest, sharing knowledge of medicinal plants, vines, and the interconnectedness of the ecosystem. Return to the lodge for dinner.

The day begins with a guided walk around Tambococha Lagoon, an excellent place to admire millenary trees and learn about their ecological role in the rainforest. Afterward, enjoy a picnic-style lunch before trying your hand at piranha fishing, a classic Amazon experience. As evening falls, prepare for a unique night hike through the jungle, where the sounds of frogs, the glowing eyes of insects, and even the silent movement of snakes reveal the forests mysterious nocturnal life. Dinner is served back at the lodge.

Today offers a chance to experience the culture of the Paikinape Secoya Community. After navigating the river, youll be warmly welcomed into the community and invited to participate in daily activities. Learn how to prepare traditional dishes, hear ancestral stories, and share a communal lunch made with local products. In the afternoon, sail along the Napo River to visit sandy islands rich in birdlife, where colorful species such as macaws and herons can often be seen. Return to your lodge for dinner and rest.

The morning begins with a boat trip to Cocaya and the Yaku Warmi Center, where youll have the rare opportunity to observe and feed pink river dolphins. These playful creatures are a true highlight of the Amazon. Later, continue your navigation to the small Peruvian border town of Pantoja, where youll enjoy lunch and learn about life along this frontier. In the afternoon, return to Nuevo Rocafuerte to relax, share dinner, and prepare for your journey back.

After breakfast, board a speedboat for the return trip upriver to Coca. The ride offers more opportunities to admire the rainforest and reflect on the adventure. Upon arrival, youll check into the Gran Hotel de Lago, where you can relax and enjoy a comfortable evening.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before transferring to Cocas airport for your flight.
