Amazon Expedition in Yasun 6 Days

Your Amazon adventure begins with an early transfer to Coca, a lively town on the banks of the Napo River. From here, youll board a speedboat for a scenic five-to-six-hour ride downstream, passing endless stretches of rainforest and sandy shores where birds and monkeys often appear. Lunch is served on board while you enjoy the rhythm of the river. By afternoon, youll arrive in Nuevo Rocafuerte, a small frontier town marking the entrance to Yasun National Park. After checking into your lodge, take a short walk through town before sharing your first dinner surrounded by the tranquil sounds of the jungle.

After breakfast, begin a two-hour navigation deeper into Yasun. Your first stop is at a Ministry of Environment checkpoint, followed by a guided walk beneath towering ceibo and kapok trees that have stood for centuries. The journey continues toward Jatuncocha Lagoon, a pristine body of water encircled by dense vegetation where youll enjoy lunch in the heart of the rainforest. In the afternoon, set out on a forest hike to learn about vines, medicinal plants, and their traditional uses. The day closes with dinner at the lodge and the peaceful sounds of nocturnal wildlife.

The morning begins with a walk around Jatuncocha Lagoon, where your guide will demonstrate the unique qualities of water vines and other millenary trees. Return to the lodge for a traditional lunch before preparing for a hands-on activity: piranha fishing in the river, an exciting challenge in the Amazon. Later, as the sun sets and the forest transforms, embark on a guided night walk. Frogs croak from the undergrowth, insects glow in the dark, and snakes slither silently among the leaves—revealing the mysterious nocturnal side of the rainforest..

Today is dedicated to cultural immersion with the Secoya community of Paikinape. After navigating the river, youll be welcomed by families who will share stories about their ancestral traditions. Participate in the preparation of local dishes, learn about their daily life, and enjoy lunch made with fresh ingredients from the forest. In the afternoon, the journey continues along the Napo River, where the sandy islands are prime spots for birdwatching. At dawn, board a boat to the Yaku Warmi Center, a unique conservation project where you can feed and observe pink river dolphins up close.
