Blue sheep hunting in Dhorpatan

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) in Kathmandu. Our representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. The day is for rest and a detailed briefing on the expedition, including a check of all hunting permits and equipment.

A full day in Kathmandu is set aside for the crucial task of finalizing all government hunting permits and licenses. Our team will assist with the necessary paperwork for both hunting and firearm imports.

Take a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. From there, a private jeep will take you on a rugged, adventurous drive to the starting point of the trek, closer to the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve.

The real expedition begins. You will trek through scenic landscapes, passing through remote villages and forested hills. The trail is challenging, gradually gaining altitude as you make your way to the designated base camp in Dhorpatan.

A day dedicated to acclimatizing to the high altitude. The hunting guide will take you on a short hike to scout the surrounding area, looking for signs of Blue sheep activity and planning the hunting strategy for the coming days.

Days 6-12 are the core of the expedition. Each morning, the team will trek into different hunting blocks of the reserve. The days are long and physically demanding, involving stalking, glassing the mountainsides for sheep, and making a strategic approach for a clean, ethical shot. The team will return to the base camp each evening.

Break down the camp and trek back to the nearest airstrip. From there, a chartered helicopter or a vehicle will transport you back to Pokhara, followed by a flight back to Kathmandu.

Enjoy a final breakfast in Kathmandu before being transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) for your international flight home.
